Report: January 2000

I have put together some January 2000 Florida bass fishing reports of Florida bass that were caught while wild shiner fishing on Lake Okeechobee by anglers from across the United States. Our Florida bass fishing reports are also cataloged under each month they were caught during the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years. A fishing report on amount of bass caught, area caught on Lake Okeechobee and other information is listed with each Florida bass fishing report. To ensure validity the angler's name, address, phone number and e-mail address is also listed with every fishing report.

Florida Bass Fishing - Jan. 27 - 29, 2000 Fishing Report

John Couch (Resala, GA - ph: 706-629-6207 - e-mail: Jcou23@aol.com) and Tim Rolan (Rome, GA - ph: 706-233-9750) caught about 37 bass up to 5 lbs during 3 days (Jan. 27 - 29, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. They fished the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - Jan. 23 - 25, 2000 Fishing Report

Darryl and Anita Bowers ( AL - Ph: 334-580-4555 - e-mail: ABo3224273@aol.com) caught about 40 Florida bass up to 6 lbs during 3 days (Jan. 23 - 25, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Anitia caught the 5 3/4 lb'er. They fished the North Shore and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - Jan. 19 & 20, 2000 Fishing Report

Melvin Dent (Ashville, OH - ph: 740-983-2105 - e-mail: mdent@mctnow.com) party of 4 fishermen in 2 guide boats caught 67 bass up to 6 lbs during 1 and the half days (Jan. 19 & 20, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Mike Cottrill caught the 6 lb'er. They fished the North Shore and Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - Jan. 17 & 18, 2000 Fishing Report

Jim and Sylvia O'Neill (Safety Harbor, FL - ph: 727-726-4470) caught 17 bass up to 5 lbs during 2 half days (Jan. 17 & 18, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Jim caught the 5 lb'er. They fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - Jan. 15, 2000 Fishing Report

Brad Metcalfe (Lexington, KY - ph: 606-245-1438 - e-mail: spraymasters@home.com) and Mark Nichols (Lexington, KY - ph: 606-224-9630) caught 32 bass that included a 6 lb and 7 lb'er during 1 day (Jan. 15, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Ben caught the 6 lb'er. They fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Jeff Holsinjer (Marshall, VA - ph: 540-364-7668) and Brian Coons (Front Royal, VA - ph: 540-631-0713) caught 35 Florida bass up to 6 lbs during 1 and the 1/2 days (Jan. 13 & 14, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Brain caught the 6 lb'er. They fished the Hay Field area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

They fished the Hay Field, Moonshine and Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Jason Grodsky (Somerville, NJ - ph: 908-904-1740 - e-mail: grodsky18@aol.com) and Mike Duffy (Somerville, NJ - ph: 908-904-4269) caught 50 bass up to 5 lbs during 2 days (Jan. 8 - 10, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. They fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - Jan. 4 & 5, 2000 Fishing Report

Steve Alford and 12 year-old son Brandon (Sarasota, FL - ph: 941-346-5422) caught 24 Florida bass up to 5 lbs during 2 half days (Jan. 4 & 5, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Brandon caught the 5 lb'er. They fished the Moonshine and Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.
