Florida Bass Fishing Report: March 2000

I have put together some March 2000 Florida bass fishing reports of Florida bass that were caught while wild shiner fishing on Lake Okeechobee by anglers from across the United States. Our Florida bass fishing reports are also cataloged under each month they were caught during the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years. A fishing report on amount of bass caught, area caught on Lake Okeechobee and other information is listed with each Florida bass fishing report. To ensure validity the angler's name, address, phone number and e-mail address is also listed with every fishing report.

Florida Bass Fishing Report

Wayne and his son Ben Strunk (Columbus, OH - ph: 614-872-9646 - e-mail: wstrunk@columbus.rr.com) caught 47 bass up to 6 lbs during 3 days (Mar. 27 - 29, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Ben caught the 6 lb'er. They fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Kevin Solloway and Maria (San Mateo, CA - ph: 650-342-4232 - e-mail: ksolloway@hotmail.com) caught 14 bass that included a 6 lb and 6 1/2 lb'er during 2 half days (Mar. 25 & 26, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. They fished the Moonshine area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Jeff and Ruth Smith (Reidsville, NC - ph: 336-361-4556) caught 63 bass up to 5 1/2 lbs during 3 days (Mar. 24 - 26, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. They fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Elaine Williams (Jacksonville, FL - e-mail: Elainewlms@aol.com) and her bother-in-law and sister Gene and Norma Bond (Nashville, IN - ph: 615-754-0101) caught 10 bass up to 6 lbs during 2 half days (Mar. 19 & 20, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Cap'n Ron. Norma caught the 6 lb'er. They fished the Fisheating Creek area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Frank Frederick and sons Jared (13), Jake (11) (Butler, NJ - ph: 973-838-2313) caught about 25 bass up to 6 1/2 lbs during 2 half days (Mar. 19 & 20, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Jared caught the 6 1/2 lb'er. They fished the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Ben Spears (Middleport, OH - ph: 740-992-2956 - e-mail: BSpears@eurekanet.com) and Auston Newsome (Syracuse, OH) caught and released about 50 bass up to 9 1/4 lbs during 3 days (Mar. 17 - 19, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Auston caught the 9 1/4 lb'er. They fished Moonshine and North Shore areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Lee Kindle, son Shane and Gene Flowers (Manhunta, GA ph: 912-462-7905) caught about 15 bass that included a 6 lb'er, 6 3/4 lb'er and a 7 lb'er during 2 half days (Mar. 17 & 18, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Shane caught the 7 and 6 lb'er. Gene caught the 6 3/4 lb'er. This group fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Duane Braddy (Grant, MI - ph: 231-834-9150 - e-mail: brat327@ncats.net) who is the Postmaster at the U.S. Postal Service Office (Baldwin, MI - e-mail: dbraddy@email.usps.gov) and his brother Roy (ph: 231-652-3677) caught 59 bass that included a 5 3/4 lb and 6 1/4 lb'er during 3 and the 2 half days (Mar. 14 - 17, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Roy caught the 5 3/4 lb'er fishing the half day with Cap'n Ron. They fished the North Shore and Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Pat caught the 6 1/2 lb'er. They fished the Monkey Box, Moonshine and North Shore areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass except the 6 lb'er were released.
