Report: September 2000
September's heat wave which
is not common during this time of the year slowed the Florida
charter bass fishing down. Hurricane Gordan which pasted by us
however helped turn the bass on.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 21 & 22, 2000 Fishing Report
Florida charter bass fishing anglers Francis Ruffy (Phila. PA - ph: 215-765-9111) and Mauro Ruffy (Manhasset, NY) caught 41 bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days (Sept. 21 & 22, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. This was their second trip this month (see Sept. 17, 2000 report below). Bass were caught on the North Shore and Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.
Florida Charter bass fishing anglers Ara Hollenback (Torrance, CA - ph: 310-217-8022 - e-mail: bassmaster77@aol.com) and Jeff Marshall (Southgate, MI) caught 27 bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days (Sept. 19 & 20, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught on the North Shore and Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.
Florida charter bass fishing anglers Francis Ruffy (Phila. PA - ph: 215-765-9111) and Mauro Ruffy (Manhasset, NY) caught 12 bass up to 6 lbs during a half day (Sept. 17, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. They also caught a grass carp that had to weigh somewhere in the 25 - 30 lb. range believe it or not on a shiner! Bass and carp were caught in the Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass and the grass carp were released.
Florida bass charter fishing anglers Roger and Joe Galloway (Sunbright, TN - ph: 423-628-5220) caught 104 bass up to 5 lbs during 5 days (Sept. 11 - 15, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Cap'n Ron. This nice catch of Florida bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal, Twin Palm canal and Fisheating Creek areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.
Florida charter bass fishing couple Dright and Ami Raymond (Kendall, FL - 305-598-0953 - e-mail: AmieRaymie@aol.com) (Sunbright, TN - ph: 423-628-5220) caught about 10 bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days (Sept. 9 & 10, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Cap'n Ron. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond and Twin Palm canals of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.
Florida charter bass fishing honeymoon anglers Marc and Lyn Rumig (Cambridge, Canada, Ont. - 516-740-8452 - e-mail: mrumig@sentex.net) caught about 40 bass up to 8 lbs during 1 day (Sept. 8, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.
